In March of 2006, Gencom Group formed a joint venture with Lehman Brothers Real Estate Partners to acquire all of Bradford Home Suites hotels, including four properties in Dallas; two in Houston; one in Austin, Texas; one in Denver; and one in Colorado Springs, Colo. The acquisition included a $15 million renovation for the upscale, extended-stay hotels. Completed in December 2006, the renovation added high-speed Internet access in the coffee lounge, a new business center, new exercise facilities, king-size beds in all guest suites and a soft goods renovation to the guest houses. The joint-venture partnership flagged the hotels under national brands, the majority of which were Hyatt Summerfield Suites.
